Essential Documents

 

Admission Letter:

* Proof of unconditional or conditional admission to a German university, Studienkolleg, or a preparatory language course.

Financial Proof:

* You must demonstrate you have enough funds to cover living expenses, typically by depositing at least €11,904 into a German blocked account for your first year, or by providing a recognized scholarship letter.

Health Insurance:

* Proof of both travel health insurance (valid for the first few months) and a confirmed long-term German health insurance policy (public or private). 

Language Proficiency:

* Proof of English (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL) or German language skills (e.g., TestDaF, Goethe-Zertifikat), depending on the requirements of your chosen study program.

Academic & Professional Records:

* Original and copies of your Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), previous university degrees (if applicable), mark sheets, and a well-crafted Letter of Motivation.

Valid Passport:

* Must be valid for at least 12 months beyond your intended arrival date.

 

 

Application Process

 

Book an Appointment:

* You must schedule an online appointment prior to visiting the Visa Section of the German Embassy in Dhaka. Be sure to arrive early; being late by more than 15 minutes will result in a cancellation.

Visa Fee:

* The standard national (Type D) student visa fee is €75 (payable in Bangladeshi Taka on the day of your interview, usually in cash only).

Processing Time

* The minimum processing time is typically 4 to 6 weeks, as your application must be reviewed and approved by immigration authorities in Germany.
